21 May Peter Pepper & Box Car Willie’s at Countryside Gardens
Posted at 22:05h in Featured
Unusual pepper & tomato plants at Countryside Gardens are the norm however we like to feature new or special varieties as they are ready for sale. The fiery little Peter Pepper has long been considered too hot to eat! Native to Louisiana and Texas, this blistering capsicum forms pods which naturally and consistently contort themselves into a replica of, well – I’ll leave it to your imagination. Seeds are almost impossible to obtain, and most plants are grown from much coveted “private stock” – plants grown year after year for seeds alone. The featured tomato is Box Car Willie. It matures in 80 days. Reddish-orange fruit 10-16 oz with an old fashioned flavor you’ll remember from childhood. High yielding, multi use tomato that is ideal for canning, freezing or for home cooked meals. Crack free and disease resistant. All of our unusual plants are grown here and in limited quantity.
